A young girl whose vision was very poor was healed. She came back the next night so excited to tell us that she still could see perfectly.
She stood next to the platform, as Debra ministered to the people who had come forward for healing. I noticed how beautifully dressed she was and how she held herself with a quiet elegance as she stood there holding a sweet little girl in her arms. She didn't look familiar to me, but then a pastor came over and told me who she was. I was stunned. This lovely woman standing before us had been in our meetings in Jamaica, a year earlier. Debra and the team had ministered to her then. The previous year, she had stood before the platform, very pregnant, and very oppressed. She was so burdened and lifeless, that she couldn't even smile. As Debra and others continued to minister to her, we could see the heaviness begin to lift, and we knew Jesus was healing her and setting her free. Now, a year later, she was a different woman. We marveled at what God had done her life. This woman's story is a testimony to what God is doing in Jamaica. Stories like these fill our hearts as we travel each year to Jamaica to minister the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This year we traveled back to Chapelton, a town up the mountain from May Pen, Jamaica. Our friend, Pastor Raymond Graham, had purchased some land for a new church building in Chapelton, and we had come to preach the Gospel for six nights under a tent on the building site. Plans for a new church had not gone unopposed. Satan was not happy we were there. We experienced problems with sound equipment, Debra's voice was stripped by the first night, and our power supply was cut off. Some people who were against the meetings even sent the police out to stop us! But we refused to give up; and as we pressed in to Jesus, He gave us strategies to undo the work of the enemy in that area. Debra's voice was miraculously restored, our sound system straightened out, the power turned back on, and the police had no problem with what we were doing. That week, we saw so many people give their lives to Jesus! Over 300 came to know Jesus Christ! There were nights when it seemed like every unsaved person in attendance came to the altar. Men, women, and children of all ages came forward. They were serious about their decision to follow Jesus, and Jesus healed them!
Here are a few highlights:
- One young mother brought her small child forward for healing. The child had received an injection that had caused his foot to point down and stiffen. The foot would not bend and he could not use it. As Debra prayed, the foot began to soften and bend. When the mother saw this, tears ran down her face, and she gave praise to God!
- A man came forward with a very painful knee. He had been in pain for over a year, but as God touched him, ALL the pain left! He was so amazed! He kept bending his knee and telling his family and friends that all the pain was gone.
- Debra also prayed with a young girl whose vision was blurry. As she prayed, the girl's vision was restored. The next night, the girl came to the platform just to tell us that she was still healed!
- A woman who had back pain for 30 years came forward, and God healed her and removed all the pain. Praise God!
The members of the team also prayed with people, and there were many other wonderful reports of God's healing and saving power.

One morning our team was able to visit a small hospital in Chapelton. This hospital had been closed for some years and had just reopened. They were very glad to receive the medical supplies we brought them, and warmly let us share the message of Jesus with all the people in the waiting area. Almost everyone waiting there prayed with the team to give his or her lives to Jesus.
By the end of the trip, we had many awesome testimonies to God's love for the people of Chapelton. As we go into Jamaica each year, stories like these continually fill us with awe and thankfulness to God for His faithfulness and incredible kindness. Our times of ministering in Jamaica are deep and fruitful as we step out in the Name of Jesus and minister with boldness and joy. The Spirit of God is moving in Jamaica. We are constantly seeing lives transformed by Jesus, people healed and set free, and amazing demonstrations of His power and goodness as we minister in this country. Jesus really loves Jamaica. He loves the people of Jamaica. And He is establishing His Kingdom in Jamaica, heart-by-heart, village-by-village, and coastline-to-coastline. We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over Jamaica!
