What an awesome trip we had to Guyana!!!
We, a team of six women, experienced God's favor and His manifest presence and power from beginning to end. This was truly a 'new season' for Guyana, and God's purpose and plan for this nation would not be stopped. We were so blessed to be a part of all that God is doing in this nation. |

We had the privilege of being a part of Mashramani, which is a parade similar to the Mardi Gras celebration held in New Orleans in the United States. In spite of great opposition from other Christians and churches, Pastor Wilfred Adams went forward with the vision God had given him to participate in 'Mash' and make a radical stand that Jesus Christ is the answer for Guyana. A group of Christian pastors and believers from many different denominations joined together to declare that righteousness exalts a nation, and that God will pour out His Spirit and favor on Guyana in a fresh, new, and powerful way. The Christians were in line as early as 7:30am because they were determined that the first float of the parade would be the Ark of the Covenant. The Ark was carried by pastors of various participating churches dressed as priests in white. The six of us from the US were asked to follow the Ark of the Covenant, each carrying a Guyana flag. Behind us were two other floats. One was a large Bible with the words 'Righteousness Exalts a Nation,' and the other float was a dove, representing the Holy Spirit. A Mack truck with a large flatbed trailer carried a praise and worship team, as well as a towering wall of huge speakers, down the parade route, as over 100 dancers followed with flags and banners through the streets of Georgetown. Behind the dancers, about 2000 marching Christians handed out thousands of tracts to the people lining the route. It was a sight to behold! The presence of God was truly felt as we marched for two hours, ushering in the King of Glory, and ending at the National Park in Georgetown to a cheering crowd in the grandstand. This was a powerful prophetic declaration. Earlier we had prayed, and the Lord had shown us that the carrying of the ark was a prophetic act. And just as the waters of the Jordan River had to stand straight up and move out of the way for the presence of God in the Old Testament, so now every stronghold had to bow to the presence of God in Georgetown.
After Mashramani, the pastors organized a two-day open-air crusade in Vreed-En-Hoop. There was a pool hall across from the crusade site, and many of the men in the pool hall got saved. Always, it is such a blessing to see the younger generation surrender their lives to Jesus Christ. There were also so many wonderful healings in these meetings. A few highlights included a boy of 12 years with pain in his eyes and very bad eyesight being totally healed. Later in the week we got a report that he was so happy because he had 20/20 vision and could see perfectly!!! Another was a teenager who had hurt his back 3 years ago was totally healed of all pain. We also got a report of a woman who said that she would never set foot in a church. She came to the crusade and was totally healed. The following Sunday she and her daughter attended a church in the area, and both were saved. What an awesome testimony!!! God is so good!!
The next part of our journey was across the Berbice River to Corriverton, to be with Pastor Alim Mursalin and his Full Gospel Church. This area is predominately Muslim and Hindu but God showed His greatness. We experienced a great, great, breakthrough in the services as the people responded to the presence of God. As words of knowledge were called out, and the presence of God was so strong, people were healed as they lifted up their hands in the Glory. Migraines had to leave, pain in the body fled, ulcers and knee problems disappeared, and the list went on. It was the beginning of something new that God was doing in that region. We were told that the church had been praying and fasting for two months. God had spoken to them about a move of His Spirit that was going to bring expansion and breakthrough to this region. The altar was full of believers on their knees, crying out to God to transform their lives. I believe as God continues to pour out His spirit in that region, there will be a great harvest.
We joined Pastor Herman Jacob for 3 days of meetings in the West Berbice area, which would end our time of ministry in Guyana. The Glory of God filled the building, and every night, the altars were filled as the believers cried out to God for clean hands and pure hearts. Laying down their lives, they were willing to give all for the call to Guyana. The presence of God was again so thick. Not one of us could ever be the same after experiencing such a wonderful move of the Spirit. One night as I was preaching the Word of God, the Lord confirmed His word with gold dust that appeared all over my bible and pulpit. The healing presence of God in these meetings healed every person that was sick. One woman was totally healed from pain and infection she had endured for 8 years in the left side of her mouth. Even though the doctors wanted to do surgery, she believed God would heal her and He did! There was a woman who could not take any deep breaths without a fit of coughing overtaking her, and in a moment, God healed her. Another woman who had pain for 15 years in her female organs was totally healed and left the altar pain free. The room filled with shouts of rejoicing as a woman testified how she gave her heart to Jesus because she was healed of an ulcer. The shouts of praise rose again, as a woman who was blind in one eye for as long as she could remember, testified that she had received her eyesight.
What an awesome God we serve!! Meeting after meeting, we saw the greatness of His presence and power. It was such a privilege and honor to be a part of the Outpouring that is beginning in the nation of Guyana. Our lives will never be the same, and we are already planning our trip back to Guyana in February of 2008. God is arising in a powerful way in Guyana, and the Glory of the Lord will be seen across that nation in this new season for Guyana.
