Wow! What a trip! Our experiences in Burundi were beyond our wildest expectations. It was a trip of open doors and great favor. Earlier when we arrived into Tanzania, before we crossed over into Burundi, I had a quick vision while standing in the Customs line with Becky Jacobs, Nancy Krapf, Pamela Nowacki, and Ginny Oberg. I saw a cloak of favor placed on my shoulders that covered the entire team. It was beautiful and a very rich color of purple…so very royal. I said to the team, “God will give us “great favor” on this trip like we have never experienced before on any other trip. The trip was 3 ½ weeks long, started in Tanzania and ended in Burundi…. we certainly had an amazing and awesome time as we experienced God’s favor from the beginning to the end.
The night before we crossed into Burundi, we were warned by a white English speaking miner that Burundi was not a safe place to travelin.. He told us that a person had been shot in Burundi earlier that day not far from the border. After spending some serious time in the presence of the Lord, I received the confirmation that we were to go forward into Burundi. God was opening new doors for us and we were not going to miss anything that God had for us. The greatest highlight of our Burundi trip was being invited to the President’s home for dinner and an evening service. It was like a dream. When we arrived and got out of our cars, the most wonderful Christian praise music filled the atmosphere outdoors. Wow!! I knew that President Pierre Nkurunziza and the First Lady were Christians but I wasn’t expecting to hear such wonderful anointed praise music when I stepped outside the car. After given our assigned seating for dinner, we were able to join with the other guests and praise team for about an hour of praise and worship. It so was wonderful!!! And we were so blessed when the President himself took the microphone and led us in praise and worship for another 30 minutes with his 5 year old son. This was followed by the President and the First Lady praying for the country of Burundi: thanking God for His protection and blessings for the past week, asking for forgiveness for the sins of all the people of the nation, and asking God to bless the nation and to cause the hearts of the people to be turned to Him. The team and I were so touched. Righteousness exalts a nation! God will be lifting up Burundi in the eyes of the world as an example of what He can do with a war torn nation!
I was given the wonderful privilege of speaking at the evening service at the President’s home. Not expecting this opportunity, I arrived without my Bible. But God had equipped me with a message the evening before. After healing me of horrible pain in my abdomen, His manifest presence came into the room so heavy. He then gave me a vision of the country of Burundi showing me a huge key coming out of heaven that opened the gates of the capital city of Bujumbura allowing the King of Glory to enter the city filling it with His Glory. God was going to bring a new revival to Burundi that would bring a wonderful unity as He poured out His Spirit on Burundi.
I was blessed to have the Chief Protocol visit us the next morning with an invitation to speak at a crusade that would be organized by the president. This crusade is scheduled December 26-31, 2008 for the purpose of thanking God for all He had done in Burundi in 2008. Nancy Krapf from New Jersey and I will be leaving December 22nd for Bujumbura, Burundi. Please pray with us for an awesome outpouring of His Spirit releasing an abundance of signs, wonders and miracles. Believe with us for a great harvest of souls.
The Pastor’s Conference and Revival Meetings in Bujumbura were outstanding. The hunger for a true move of the Spirit in the pastors was so wonderful to see. We taught regarding the prophetic and apostolic movement. Some spoke to us and said they had never had teaching like this and asked if we could come back and bring more of this kind of teaching because it would change their churches. The majority of the pastors came forward to the altar after our last session declaring it was time to lay down the old and walk in the new of all that God wanted to do spiritually in their churches, cities and nation. They broke and poured out in the presence of the Lord and received a fresh impartation and anointing.
The revival meetings and Women’s conference were also so powerful and filled with miracles. Deaf ears were opened, eyesight was restored, pain removed, tumors dissolved, immediate deliverances all happened instantly in the glory and the list goes on and on. A highlight for myself and the team was a drunken soldier who wandered into the church when the revival meeting was going on. After God healed his shoulder of a 3 year battle wound, he bowed his knee and wept as He gave His heart to Jesus. There is nothing more precious than to see a soul being delivered from darkness into His glorious light.
Not only did we see lives so radically changed wherever we went, but our lives will never be the same! We were impacted beyond words. God is an awesome God!! I stand so amazed again and again….who is like our God? What can compare to Him and His mighty deeds? What is too difficult for Him? There is nothing and no one!!! The more I give of myself to Him and the longer I serve Him, the more I am humbled as I stand in awe of the greatness of His love and power. I give ALL the Glory to God for the great things He has done in Burundi!
